Establishing a Washington footprint for a global pharmaceutical manufacturer

Challenge

When a global pharmaceutical company with over 14,000 employees opened their office in Washington, DC, it looked to Roberti Global to provide strategic guidance and establish a political footprint.

Action

Organized dozens of in-person meetings and policy events with key Democratic and Republican lawmakers, and educated Members and staff about the company, its products and innovative research in key disease areas. Roberti Global also worked with the client to identify legislative threats and opportunities, pursue key policy goals, help establish its corporate political action committee, and recruit candidates to help build their in-house operation.

Results

Thirteen years later, the company’s DC office now maintains a robust in-house federal and state lobbying team and policy shop; enjoys broad name recognition on Capitol Hill; possesses strong personal relationships with key lawmakers of both political parties, including leadership and those serving on key healthcare committees in the House and Senate; and a string of legislative successes under their belt. To this day, Roberti Global continues to represent the company in Washington, DC.
