Steve Irizarry is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the firm, bringing over two decades of experience at the intersection of federal policy, politics, and industry. A seasoned strategist with deep expertise in healthcare, life sciences, energy, and defense, Steve advises Fortune 500 companies, cutting-edge innovators, and mission-driven organizations on how to navigate Washington’s complex legislative and regulatory landscape.
Steve spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill serving in senior legislative roles, including as counsel to the Chairs of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee, and the Senate Special Committee on Aging, as well as to then-Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE). His experience across these powerful committees gives him a broad and practical understanding of how federal policy is made—and how to influence it effectively.
Recognized for his ability to move policy and shape outcomes, The Hill called Steve “a GOP [policy] wiz” and named him a Top Lobbyist eight years running. Under his leadership, the firm has been recognized as a Top-Performing and Standout Lobbying Firm by Bloomberg Government for seven consecutive years (2018–2024).
Steve’s work spans a wide range of sectors, including the life sciences, energy, defense, and national security. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, emerging technology firms, academic medical centers, and national trade associations. Whether working to secure federal funding, remove regulatory barriers, or drive bipartisan legislative strategy, Steve is known for delivering results in high-stakes environments.
Before co-founding the firm, Steve held senior positions at the Capitol Hill Consulting Group and ML Strategies. He currently serves on the Board of the Peter B. Teeley Children’s Charities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has awarded over $11 million in grants to programs supporting disadvantaged and at-risk youth. In 2018, he received the Foundation’s Star for Children Award for his service and advocacy.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a law degree from Arizona State University. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Lisa, and their two children.
